SITE/FUNCTION: NECF UGIE
JOB TITLE: Area Manager
DEPARTMENT: Silviculture
REPORTING TO (Position): Silviculture Manager

Key Results Areas:

  • Budgeting and budget control
  • Good team player with good communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Extensive firefighting experience
  • Proficiency in Micro forest, Excel, Word, GIS, PowerPoint & Outlook
  • Technical knowledge of the environment
  • Planning & organisational skills
  • Management of management unit fleet
  • Establish, maintain and protect plantation assets
  • Adhere to all environmental, conservation legislation
  • Manage contractors where applicable
  • Risk / Safety / FSC requirements
  • Liaise function with relevant stakeholders
  • Personnel development / management
  • Administration
  • Plantation database management

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Diploma in Forestry as the minimum, B-Tech will be an advantage

Required Minimum Experience

  • At least 10 years experience as a forester of which at least 2 of these must be at Senior Forester level
