Main functions will include but is not limited to:

  • Strategic, tactical & operational planning
  • Effective & efficient management of plantation resource, people, service providers, machinery, materials and logistics
  • Production, cost & revenue control
  • Managing landholdings of 76,000ha of which 33,700ha are planted including a large commercial livestock operation.
  • Log supply operations of 500,000m3 annually
  • Forest Management, including forest research, resource planning, technical services, environmental, conservation, community and stakeholder engagement

Minimum qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor`s Degree in Forestry or related disciplines would be preferred

Recommended skills, knowledge, and qualities:

  • At least 15 years` experience in a FSC certified commercial forestry plantation environment with management experience in silviculture, harvesting, site/land preparation, planting, on-site nursery, infrastructure development, planning & maintenance (roads & construction
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Solid presentation skills and ability to explain complex processed to an audience.
  • Financial Management and persistent business will to succeed
  • Planning and managing the company`s performance
  • Manage operations and processed within budget
  • Ability to enforce and maintain high standards, even under pressure
