Sawmill and carpentry workshop looking for a production manager with a hands on and logical approach to solving problems. 

Daily Procedures :

• Plan, organise and supervise day to day activities aligned to workshop priorities and ensure optimal output whilst supporting and enforcing company policies, procedures and standards of performance.  
• Maintain labour safety and a safe working environment within the facility.
• Coach and mentor fellow workers to exceed customer expectations.
• Ensure production quality standards are met by engaging production and maintenance workers to achieve targets, meet expectations and address problems in a productive and professional manner.
• Problem solve any machinery break downs or potential break downs and to evaluate where production could be sped up. 
• Daily tracking and reporting on workshop output.  
• Identify potential bottlenecks or challenges that might impact delivery in a timely fashion and offer potential solutions and workarounds. 
• Give input into how throughput could be optimised. 
• Deal with clients on a professional level, giving advice and making sales when needed.

Candidate Requirements

 Key Competencies/ Skills: 

• The ideal candidate must be capable of setting up, running and maintaining various machinery from chainsaws, various sawmills, blade sharpening equipment, planers, surfacer’s cutting saws and power tools.
• Have an understanding of mechanical and electrical know how.
• Have at least 5 years work experience within a production environment 
• Have worked in a leadership role  
• Experience in a similar role within the industry advantageous
• Must be punctual, trustworthy and loyal.

Requirements would be a drivers license and own transport.
